Toilet paper production happens in two main stages, often in different factories:
Paper Making (Tissue Paper Converting): Large machines create giant "parent rolls" or Jumbo Rolls (1.5 - 2 meters wide) from pulp (virgin wood, recycled paper, or bamboo).
Toilet Paper Converting: This is what most people refer to as a "toilet paper making machine." It takes the jumbo rolls and converts them into the finished product we buy in stores.
The machine you need depends entirely on your production scale, budget, and automation goals.
Manual Rewinding and Cutting Machine:
Process: An operator manually feeds the paper from a small jumbo roll, guides it through the machine for rewinding onto
cardboard cores, and then cuts the long "log" into individual rolls with a manual saw.
Output: 50 - 500 rolls per day.
Pros: Very low investment, simple operation.
Cons: Labor-intensive, slow, inconsistent quality.
Process: This is a set of machines that perform the rewinding, log cutting, and (sometimes) core inserting automatically, but packaging is
often done manually or requires an operator to manage the flow.
Pros: Good balance of cost and output, much better efficiency than manual machines.
Cons: Still requires several operators.
3. Fully Automatic Toilet Paper Production Line
Process: This is a complete, integrated system that transforms jumbo rolls into packaged toilet paper with minimal human
intervention.
Jumbo Roll Stand: Holds the large, raw paper rolls.
Toilet Paper Rewinding Machine: The heart of the line.
Unwinds the jumbo roll.
Piles 2 or 3 layers together for 2-ply or 3-ply tissue.
Embosses the paper (adds patterns for softness/branding).
Perforates the paper (creates the tear lines).
Winds the paper onto cardboard tubes, creating a long, continuous "log."
Log Saw (Cutting Machine): Automatically cuts the long log into individual toilet paper rolls of the desired length.
Auto Core Inserting Machine: (Optional but standard in full lines) Inserts the cardboard core into the roll during the rewinding
process.
Auto Packaging Machine: Wraps the finished rolls in plastic or paper, and can also pack them into larger cases.
