It is a sophisticated, automated industrial machine designed to produce long, continuous tubes with perforated patterns from a coiled metal strip. The production line integrates in-line servo punching, spiral forming and seam welding into one continuous workflow. This all-in-one design eliminates secondary punching after tube forming, greatly improving precision and production consistency.
Finished spiral perforated metal tubes are widely used as filter support cores, water well screens, drainage screens, oil & gas sand control tubes, dust collector pipes and industrial liquid separation components. As demand for corrosion-resistant metal filter screens keeps growing, this automated rolling line has become a preferred equipment for metal screen manufacturers and filter core factories.
This machine combines two core functions:
Spiral Forming & Welding: It forms a flat metal strip into a continuous spiral (helical) tube and welds the overlapping edges.
Perforation: It punches a precise pattern of holes (perforations) into the metal strip before or during the tube-forming process.

A coiled metal strip (stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, galvanized steel etc.) is loaded on the uncoiler and automatically fed into the straightening unit. The straightener removes strip camber and guarantees stable feeding for consistent punching and forming.
The straightened strip passes through a high-precision servo-driven punching unit. With custom punch and die sets, the unit stamps accurate hole patterns including round holes, square holes, slots and special decorative patterns. Servo synchronization ensures stable hole pitch even when line speed changes.
The pre-perforated metal strip is progressively shaped by a set of hardened forming rolls. The strip edges are curled to form a helical lock seam or prepared for continuous welding. The forming angle can be adjusted to match different tube diameters.
Overlapping spiral seams are welded by two optional welding systems. TIG welding delivers clean, oxidation-free welds for high-grade stainless steel filter tubes. HF high-frequency contact welding runs faster for carbon steel and galvanized tubes for mass production. Both methods create strong, airtight continuous seams.
The newly welded tube goes through sizing rolls to calibrate roundness and stabilize the outer diameter. A servo flying cut-off cutter cuts the tube to preset lengths without stopping the whole line, reducing downtime and material waste.
The whole production line is centrally controlled by PLC and HMI touchscreen. Operators adjust speed, hole pitch, cutting length and welding parameters directly on the panel. Finished perforated spiral tubes are discharged onto racks or output conveyors for inspection and packing.

Uncoiler & Straightener: Holds and feeds the master metal coil, removes strip bending
Servo Punching Unit: Core perforation module with heavy-duty press, punch, die and servo synchronization system
Forming Station: Hardened steel forming rolls mounted on cage frame for spiral shaping
Welding System: TIG or HF welding unit with wire feeder (optional)
Sizing Station: Precision sizing rolls to control tube roundness and diameter tolerance
Flying Cut-Off Unit: Servo-driven non-stop cutting saw
PLC Control Cabinet & HMI Touchscreen: Parameter setting, fault alarm, production monitoring
Exit Conveyor / Tube Racking System
High Efficiency: Single continuous automated workflow outputs finished perforated tubes, no secondary offline punching required.
Wide Design Flexibility: Custom hole shape, hole pitch, tube diameter from ~20 mm up to over 1000 mm, material thickness 0.5 mm – 4.0 mm. All parameters adjustable via HMI.
Reliable Consistent Quality: Automated servo control ensures uniform hole size, hole spacing and weld quality over the full tube length.
Raw Material Savings: Process directly from metal coil strip. Compared to punching holes on pre-made seamless tubes, it greatly cuts scrap rate and production cost.
Long Tube Capability: Produce continuous tubes far longer than standard mill pipe lengths, ideal for long water well screens and deep filter assemblies.
Strong Welded Seam: Helical overlapping weld structure delivers higher crush resistance than straight seam perforated pipes.

A: It supports stainless steel (304,316L), carbon steel, galvanized steel and aluminum strips. We can customize punching dies and forming rolls according to your material hardness.
A: Yes. Round, square, slot and special shaped holes are available. Tube diameter, wall thickness, hole pitch and perforation layout can be customized based on your drawings and samples.
A: TIG welding produces clean, oxidation-free welds for high corrosion-resistant stainless steel filter tubes, suitable for high-end filter and water well screen. HF high-frequency welding runs at faster speed for carbon steel and galvanized tubes for large-volume orders.
A: Exactly. Servo flying cut-off tracks the running tube synchronously and cuts while the line keeps running, improving total output and reducing material loss.
A: Normally 1 operator is enough to supervise the whole line, feed coils and collect finished tubes. For heavy large-diameter coil loading, a second helper is recommended.
A: Operation manuals, remote debugging, installation guidance, operation training, long-term spare parts supply and optional on-site technician service.
A: Standard models take 25–40 working days. Customized large diameter or special punching pattern machines require longer production time.
