Parallel paper tube machine is a specialized industrial equipment designed for the continuous and efficient production of paper tubes with uniform wall thickness, precise dimensions, and a smooth, parallel outer surface. Unlike traditional spiral paper tube-making devices that may have limitations in dimensional consistency, this parallel paper tube machine excels at creating straight tubes where the inner and outer diameters remain consistent along the entire length of the finished product, which is the origin of the term “parallel”.
Its core function is to transform raw paper strips, including kraft paper, recycled paper, or specialty coated paper, into high-precision cylindrical paper tubes through a fully automated continuous workflow. Parallel paper tubes feature straight body, consistent roundness and even wall thickness. They are widely demanded in industries that require high dimensional accuracy, such as film slitting, textile, printing, battery materials, high-grade packaging and special composite material winding.
The NRC16-76 model is a mature parallel paper tube machine equipped with multiple servo drive systems. It stabilizes feeding, winding and cutting synchronously to reduce defects like taper, bending and uneven wall. It is suitable for medium and large factories with high requirements for finished tube quality.
The operation of a parallel paper tube machine follows a systematic, multi-step process that ensures accuracy and efficiency:
First, large rolls of paper strips are loaded onto the machine’s unwinding units. These units are equipped with tension control systems to maintain a steady and uniform feed rate, preventing paper jams or uneven stretching of the material. The machine is fitted with paper lifting motors to assist loading heavy jumbo paper rolls, saving manual labor.
As the paper strips are fed forward, a precision gluing mechanism applies a uniform layer of adhesive (typically water-based or solvent-based glue, depending on the paper type and end use) to one side of each strip. The machine then laminates multiple layers of glued paper strips together. The number of layers can be adjusted according to the required thickness and compressive strength of the final paper tube.
The laminated paper layers are guided into a forming section, where they are wrapped around a rotating mandrel (a cylindrical metal rod). The mandrel’s diameter determines the inner diameter of the paper tube. Simultaneously, pressure rollers apply consistent pressure to the wrapped paper, ensuring tight bonding between layers and shaping the tube into a smooth, parallel cylinder. Servo motors control winding speed to keep the tube straight without tapering.
After forming, the newly created paper tube moves through a drying tunnel. This tunnel uses controlled heat (often from hot air or infrared heaters) to evaporate the moisture in the adhesive, curing it and strengthening the bond between the paper layers. The drying temperature and speed are carefully regulated to avoid warping or cracking of the tube. A dust removal fan keeps the working area clean and prevents dust from sticking on the tube surface.
Once dried, the continuous paper tube is fed into a precision cutting system. This system uses sharp blades or laser technology to cut the tube into sections of the desired length—with high accuracy (often within ±0.1mm) to ensure consistency across all finished products. The trolley servo motor drives the cutting trolley to follow the tube synchronously for stable cutting.

A: Parallel paper tube machine produces straight tubes with consistent inner & outer diameter along full length, no taper. It is for high precision industrial use. Spiral paper tube machines are more common for general low-cost cores and usually have slight taper.
A: The maximum processing length is 1700mm. You can set any target cutting length below this value on the control panel.
A: Input power AC380±10% 50Hz, total power 13.5KW. The required air pressure is above 0.65MP and gas flow rate is 2m³/h. Prepare air compressor for normal operation.
A: It works with kraft paper, recycled paper and specialty coated paper. Operators can adjust paper layer quantity to change wall thickness and tube strength.
A: Cutting tolerance can reach ±0.1mm. Synchronous trolley servo cutting ensures clean end face and uniform length for all finished parallel paper tubes.
