Automatic Kraft Parallel Cardboard Paper Core Machine is a heavy-duty industrial system that automatically produces strong,
rigid cylindrical tubes (cores) from kraft paper or cardboard. The key terms break down as:
Automatic: The entire process—from unwinding the paper to cutting the finished tube—is controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC) with minimal manual intervention.
Kraft/Cardboard: Refers to the raw material. Kraft paper is known for its superior strength and durability due to its long wood fibers, making it ideal for heavy-duty cores.
Parallel: Denotes that the tubes have a consistent diameter from end-to-end and are wound with a straight seam, providing high axial (lengthwise) strength.
Paper Core: The final product, used as a structural base for winding, shipping, or construction.
Heavy-Duty Construction: Built with robust frames, powerful motors, and high-torque components to handle the tension of multiple thick, heavy plies of kraft paper.
High Ply Capability: Can often handle 2 to 10 or more layers (plies) of paper to create very thick-walled tubes with exceptional crush resistance.
Wide Diameter Range: Typically configured for medium to large diameters, from around 75 mm (3") up to 600 mm (24") or more.
Strong Adhesive Systems: Equipped with heavy-duty gluing units, often using PVA (white glue) for its high bond strength and penetration, though hot melt systems are also used.
The process is a continuous, integrated flow:
1. Automatic Unwinding & Splicing
Multiple rolls of kraft paper are loaded onto the unwind stand.
An automatic splicing unit is critical. It detects the end of a running roll and instantly bonds the leader of a new roll without stopping the machine, ensuring non-stop production.
2. Web Guidance & Ply Bonding
Each paper web passes through precision guides and tension control systems to ensure perfect alignment.
For multi-ply tubes, an intermediate gluing station may apply adhesive between the layers before they are combined, creating a monolithic, ultra-strong wall structure.
3. Forming and Winding
The layered paper webs are fed over a large, stationary mandrel.
A heavy-duty forming belt wraps the paper around the mandrel under high pressure, creating the tight, parallel wind that defines the core's strength.
4. Precision Cutting
As the continuous tube emerges from the mandrel, an automatic cutting system slices it to the pre-set length.
For thick kraft cores, a heavy-duty rotary cutter or a high-speed saw is used for a clean, square cut.
5. Discharge and Sorting
The finished cores are conveyed away on a belt.
Fully automated lines may include systems for automatic counting, stacking, and even bundling the finished cores.
The strong kraft cores produced by this machine are used in demanding industries:
Textiles: Cores for heavy fabric rolls, carpets, and industrial textiles.
Films & Foils: Cores for large rolls of stretch film, BOPP film, and aluminum foil.
Packaging: Heavy-duty mailing tubes, protective packaging for rolled materials.
Construction: Sonotubes for creating concrete columns and pillars.
Paper & Printing: Cores for large rolls of newsprint, kraft paper, and other parent rolls.
