What is a Jumbo Paper Roll Slitter Rewinder Machine?

It is a heavy-duty, high-capacity industrial machine designed to convert massive "jumbo" or "parent" rolls from the paper mill into narrower,

smaller, and more manageable rolls for end-use. These master rolls can be over 3 meters (10 feet) wide and weigh several tons.

The machine performs two core functions:

1. Slitting: Precisely cutting the wide web of paper lengthwise into multiple narrower strips.

2. Rewinding: Winding these strips onto individual cores to form finished rolls that are uniform, tightly wound, and ready for sale or use on

   other machinery.

The High-Speed, Automated Process

1. Pre-Loading: A new jumbo roll is loaded onto the "waiting" position of the turret unwind using an overhead crane or specialized forklift.

2. Non-Stop Operation: As the running jumbo roll nears its end, the tail of the web is prepared.

   The machine automatically splices the tail of the running roll to the lead of the new jumbo roll at full production speed.

3. Precision Slitting: The wide web passes through the automated slitting unit, where it is cut into dozens, sometimes hundreds, of narrower

   strips according to the pre-programmed pattern.

4. Spreading & Separation: The slit strands pass over multiple power-driven spreader rolls to ensure they are flat and properly spaced.

5. Non-Stop Rewinding: The strands are wound onto new cores. On a duplex or dual-drum system,

   the finished rolls are ejected without stopping the machine.

6. Automated Offloading: The finished rolls are automatically conveyed to a weighing, labeling, and wrapping station, completing the fully

   automated production line.
