A4 paper cutting and packing machine is typically an industrial production line that transforms large master paper rolls into finished, wrapped packs of A4 paper. It's a highly automated system crucial for paper manufacturers and large-scale converters.
The machine performs two primary functions: precise cutting and automated packing.
This process starts with a "jumbo" or "parent" roll of paper, which can be over 8 meters wide.
Key Machine: Slitter-Rewinder and Sheeter
Slitting: The large roll is unwound and passed through a set of circular knives that slit it into multiple narrower rolls. For A4, the width is
set to 297mm.
Sheeting/Cutting: These narrower rolls are then fed into a sheeter. A high-speed rotary or guillotine cutter chops the continuous paper into sheets of the precise length required for A4, which is 210mm.
Precision is Critical: The cutting must be extremely accurate to ensure the paper feeds correctly through printers and copiers.
Once the A4 sheets are cut, they are stacked and prepared for sale.
Counting & Collating: Sheets are gathered and counted into stacks of exactly 500 for a standard ream using optical or mechanical sensors.
Ream Wrapping: The counted stack is automatically wrapped in a protective paper or plastic film. The machine seals the ends (often with
glue) and can print or apply labels with product information (e.g., "80 GSM A4").
Case Packing (Optional): For shipping, multiple reams (e.g., 5 or 10) are automatically grouped, placed into a cardboard box, and the box is sealed.
